After hitting two home runs on Sunday to give him 23 on the year and 12 since the start of July, consensus top-10 overall prospect Javier Baez will be called up to make his Major League debut with the Cubs on Tuesday.
On the season at Iowa, Baez put up a line of .260/.323/.510 with 23 home runs, 16 steals and a .250 ISO. For his minor league career in 319 games Baez has hit .278/.336/.545 with 76 home runs.
Baez will play second base for the Cubs with Arismendy Alcantara most likely taking over full-time in center field.
